Ole Henriksen African Red Tea See the Difference Serum

Oh, I wish it was easier to write than to say it, and it seems like this everyday blogging challenge might not be my cup of tea. On the other hand, I think it might be related due to eight hours  spent at work talking , and when I get home, I just want some silence. That might sound weird to you, but when I write, I speak to myself and you guys in my mind, and it’s not always something I am up to when I get home after a hard day. However, after the popular saying, don’t write if you can not write, but I can’t, so I will try to write as often as I can, maybe at the very least every second or third day.

So my last review was about the cheap and wonderful mask, this one will be about expensive, but amazing serum. I am not sure how many of you have heard about Ole Henriksen brand, I have been introduced to it while in Denmark, or though my student budget didn’t really let me get any of their products, I still used every opportunity to at least get a sample. I am trying to do project pan:sample edition* to use up my makeup pouch full of samples, and I have pulled an Ole Henriksen See the difference serum. On one hand, I’m so glad I did, on the other, I kind of wish I hadn’t, since I’ve became obsessed with it, and I want to get a full size, but not only we don’t have it here, it also costs quite a lot if it needs to be ordered over the internet. So if any of you ever see it on discount on any of homepage, would you please be so kind and yell aloud :)?

If you are a regular reader of mine – hopefully more regular than me as a blogger – you should know I find it hard to write a post without a long introduction, but let me try to get to the description of the product :).

The first thing you notice when using the product, is the smell. Its amazing, if you are just as much lemon scent lover as I am. It smells amazing, it has very refreshing scent, and its great for both waking you up and helping you to get ready for the night.

Secondly, I love the consistency of this serum. I dont know about you, but I am not a fan of those very liquidy clear serums, mostly just because, being as clumsy as I am, I manage to get it all over place, and they leave sticky consistency on my face. This serum, however, has more of the creamy fluid consistence, which I really like, it makes it very easy to massage it all over my face and it doesn’t leave my face sticky.

Thirdly, -I know every second blogger says this, but I don’t know how not to –  a little bit goes a long way, and I’ve been using a tiny little sample for four days now, day and night, and I still have some left. So I guess you would use the full size package forever, and in the end you will end up actually saving money.

And for the impact on my skin, I am also excitedly impressed. Long hours in front of computer makes my skin look dull and tired, but I can honestly tell this serum have refreshed it and made much more brighter. Also, I know its’ primary function isn’t to correct dark under eyes, but it must be a vitamin c in the product, which have brightened my under eye area and I could even say tightened it a little bit.

And last, but not least, did I mention that my skin is baby soft ever since I’ve been using this product? 🙂 Overall, I think I have run out of words which describes how awesome this product is, but I’m very very impressed. Tell me, did you ever tried any of Ole Henriksen products? Did you like them?

I hope you all have a wonderfull weekend!

*project pan is when you choose a said amount of products which have been occupying space in your vanity for too long, and set your mind on using them up 🙂

Face Mask “Teebaum” review

Moving from ecological, quite extraordinary products to the ones affordable to anyone, I would like to talk about the face mask, called “Teebaum”. My overseas friends, I apologize one more time, you probably don’t have this either, but its good I am doing swaps with some of you, huh? Or though I love myself some luxury in my skincare routines, in no way do I look down on cheap products, especially if they have raves all over the internet. One of Lithuanian biggest forums have pushed me into making the decision to pick this mask up, and I am glad, I did.

It is a deep cleaning clay mask, with the Russian origins, I believe. It does have a minty scent – have you noticed my obsession with mint yet? :), a pale green color – so if you have a second half, or sensitive family members, aim to apply it while alone to avoid giving someone a heart atack.

In my eyes this mask has just a perfect consistency, which is not too stiff, not too runny, and just perfect to apply straight of the tube.  I think I have already mentioned somewhere, but I have to feel my mask on my face, let it be heating, tingling, or tightening on my face, or otherwise in my head, its being put on “it doesn’t work” shelf. This give me a slight sensation of tingling and tightening my face, and after I have used it, my pores looks tiny bit smaller. Moreover, my skin feels a tiny bit brighter and cleaner after just one use. I won’t say it does miracles overnight, but it does clean your skin. If you are not commitment phoebe, and can use the same mask several times in a row a week, I strongly recommend you pick this up. However, if you have more drier skin, you might want to skip it, because I found it slightly drying on my combination skin. But, besides its  availability, and a tiny bit difficulty washing it off, its the only con I can think off :). Tell me, have you tried it? Do you have it in your country?

Have a nice evening and see you tomorrow 🙂

Aubrey organics oily skin travel kit

Disclaimer: my camera is broken, and no-one knows where the cable of my phone is, so I will have to borrow pictures from the broad internet for a while.

You know, as a beauty blogger – well, let’s forget the fact, that very inactive one recently,  but my heart and brain do still belong to blogging, and every second of my purchase is argumented with ‘well, it can be material for your blog”, I rarely buy a product twice, because there are simply too many choices out there, and I want to try it all.  But when I do feel like repurchasing something, that usually means, that product is really good. So some time this week- editor note: that obviously was few weeks ago, I picked up Aubrey organics travel kit for oily skin with 50 percent off. Well, guess what, I’m getting a back up when I get a chance. So I thought I would just let you all know, the reasons what made me wanna get a backup.

My skin have been acting up recently, and i am blaming the weather and long working days in front of computer screen.. However, in just a few uses, it seems to be helping a lot. The set consists of facial cleanser, facial astringent, moisturizer and a mini mask. Even though the whole set is really nice, two outstanding products for me, is facial cleanser and a mask. Facial cleanser has a nice creamy consistency, it smells fresh and minty, and just seems to clear all the impurities you have, leaving your skin squeaky clean.  Also, it is perfect after a hard hot summer day, since the mint provide a slight cooling sensation. And sometimes, after I have just used it, I can’t wait for the evening, so I can use it again. Well, I know I’m weird. However, after just a few uses, my skin is visibly clearer, and even minor scaring from picking on the z’s – yeah, i know, I shouldn’t, seems to be reducing.

Another thing which really excited me in the kit, was the mask. It has a slight warming effect, and I could swear there is some cinnamon in the mask, but I was not able to find that in the ingredients list. However, after you apply a thin layer on your face, you can feel it warming up, and I don’t know about you, but for me, if I can feel mask on my face, I automatically assume, that it means, that it is working. And I feel like it can also be seen on my face. I’m treating my skin every second evening with it at the moment, just to get it to a normal condition, it doesn’t seem to be too much or anything, and I will gladly keep continuing using it. I have also picked the kit for sensitive skin, and I will just see how that one works in the comparison and you can expect a review about it coming in couple of weeks.

Hope you all having a fantastic weekend! 🙂 See you tomorrow.

A perfect Christmas gift, part 1

Hi girls, please tell me I am not the only one already thinking about Christmas and New Year, starting by listening to Christmas songs, watching gifts, and ending by Christmas dishes, outfits, and nails of the day, listening to Christmas songs, and watching Christmas movies (Elf at the background atm). That might of course be resulted due to my health issues and desperate attempts to try to find something positive in my life – I tell you, it is rather hard through a constant headaches. However, the christmasy mood of course comes with an unavoidable consideration of Christmas gift. At the same time this is also Thursday stars post. I was lucky enough to get my hands on an amazing artisan perfume sampler set from a perfume house in San Fransisco, called Ineke.

And guess what, I immediately felt in love, with almost every and each of the perfumes, especially for the one, designed for men, *cough cough*.  However, the creator firmly believes that all perfumes should be unisex and it should be up to the man or woman to choose the favorite one, without being limited by gender. And you know what, I agree!

You might ask why would it make a perfect Christmas gift? Well, to start with I am sure all of us was there, when we tried to gift a perfume, which according us, would fit that person perfectly, just to find out that we were so far from the truth… The sampler set eliminate us from the hard choosing process, since the giftee can decide for themselves which scent they prefer. Secondly, the packaging is so amazing, that you almost don’t need to wrap it, or if you are like me and swear by wrapping, something as simple as one coloured paper and ribbon would do the trick. Thirdly, no matter how picky you are with your scents (hi, mom) you will most likely like at least couple of the scents in the collection, if not all. There is simply something so magic about it. And getting to the magic, whoever writes the names of their scents, they are geniuses. My favorite titles are Balmy days and Sundays and Chemical bonding, and the last scent also talks most to me. Are you convinced yet? If not, just imagine Christmas morning, or afternoon – depending on when you unpacking your gifts, where you unpack your sampler set, and try to guess which notes the perfume has. The set comes with the brochure, so you have the answers right there. I don’t know about you, but for me, that sounds as a ‘ren hygge” – danish expression describing coziness. And even though you can read notes either on their webpage here, or in the brochure, I will still try to describe it in my own words, because blog posts supposed to be personal, right?

A: After my own heart: in my humble opinion, that is the most ordinary scent in the sampler collection, it is floraly – dominating lilly smell, but not overpowering, a little bit sweet, and just a tad woody. Just a scent which would be perfect for everyday, maybe even a rainy day, where no matter how dark outside it is, you still feel romantic. It is a very universal scent which would be good to anyone, despite their age.

B: Balmy days and Sundays: that is a very different scent from the first one, it is very fresh, leafy and grassy – is that even a word? When I first smelt it, I thought I was going crazy, because I immediately could smell the freshly cut grass. And honey. I am probably crazy, or it is just a fact that I read that there was honeysuckle in the notes, which made me smell honey in the perfume, but as I said, the way individuals looks at the perfumes is very different, and I am sure different people would be able to distinct different notes.

C: Chemical bonding: That is the second of my favorites, after the Derring-do. Can anyone of you who have been following my blog long  enough guess the top note? Elementary, Vatson. Citruses! and tea. That’s a little bit stronger smell, I would be wearing it for an evening out, maybe even to top up the little black dress, or maybe to a job interview, where I would feel that I need a little bit self confidence and invisible inspiration..

D: Derring-do: as i told you, that is my favorite of the collection, this smells like citruses in the rain. When I sniffed it the first time, I honestly starting mumbling – that is how I sound when I try to sing – singing in the rain. I don’t know why, but I immediately thought of that movie. It also smells a little of cedarwood and musk – I guess that is where the musculine scent comes from. For me it is one of those scents, where I know I love it, but have no idea why.

E: Evening edged in gold: that is also a little bit stronger scent, the one which would probably be perfect on the night out – hence the name, I guess. It doesn’t have a distinct smell the normal me can define, however, it does remind me a little bit of hospital and some kind of medical substance, so I suppose it is rather herbal. The official description says: “topnotes: gold osmanthus, plum; middle: “angel’s trumpet, saffron, cinnamon; base: midnight candy, leather, woods”. And you know what, while I write this, the strong smell kind of faded, and I can confirm that I do smell cinnamon.

F: Field notes from Paris: I just love the title of this perfume. However, the scent itself is a little bit too overpowering and reminds me too much of the manly perfume. So, sadly it kind of let me down since I have imagined something completely different from a title. And once again here comes a crazy me, who can smell wood, fireplace, and almost fire in this perfume. At least, I kept sniffing and thinking ‘what on earth is burning’ until I realized that it indeed was  my hand smelling of fire! In a nice way, but however it wouldn’t be my number one choice.

G: Gilded lilly: *ehm ehm*, my mom stole this from me before I managed to smell it properly, so I am gonna cheat, and just copy what the brochure says. But in our smelling competion we all agreed that it was aimed to a little bit more mature women, but in no way this smell is for grannies. They say “sparkling fruits and cypriot woods. Top notes: pineapple, rhubarb, grapefruit. Middle: goldband lily of Japan. Base: Patchouli, oakmoss, labdanum.” As much as I can remmember, I can say, that it was my least favorite scent, and my first thought was: that’s something my mom would enjoy.

H: Hothouse Flower: hmm, that is a very interesting scent, I can honestly smell mint. The bf wasn’t much help when I wanted to confirm my probably crazy thoughts – ‘it smells of nivea’, honestly every second product I make him smell, I hear that phraze, guess who is getting a huge can of NIVEA cream for Christmas? 😀 Okay, according to the brochure – yeah, I cheated once again – it smells of Earl Grey Tea, so probably that is the ‘mint’ I am smelling. However, that is my third favorite, or maybe the one in the second second place. I really really like it..And know when I know it, it does smell like a cup of good sweet Early Grey tea, i wonder if we have any in our tea drawer..

Don’t you just love the alphabeth in the titles? I do hope that means they are coming up with more volumes of the collection! I hope you are convinced by this post, and will be trying to get your hands on the set. I am a little in doubt as where you can get it, but I will try to find it and update the post. And please forgive my illiteracy what comes to describing scents – I tried so hard – but try for yourself, and tell me what you think!

Have a wonderfull weekend and I will be back very soon with some exiting news.

Thank you, Charlotte

You might think that I am out of my mind, some of you might even think: hmmm, does this have something to do with the beauty? Well, believe it or not, it does. It is a book about beauty, or, as the author would say, ‘everyday’s glamour’. Never have I thought that I would read a beauty book in just couple of hours, but well, I did, and proudly be placing it on my shelf where everyone could see it. I am not sure I will be borrowing it, though, it is too good to be lost.

I am not the one for writing book reviews, and opinion might be very subjective – I can’t check if it makes me break out, or what it does to my skin, but I do know it did put smile on my lips. So, forgive me the ones coming here for a beauty product reviews, this post is dedicated to thank Charlotte for so many things. So, thank you for:

  • being inspirational: after I have closed the last page – yeah, I read the distributors list from A to Z – I have booked time for facial, appointment at the motion club, and a SPA evening;
  • making me laugh in the room full of people – now I know why counting sheep never works for me, appearently, I need to count beauty products;
  • for making me nod in acknowledgment in some situations – such as being awkward in Spa’s, or not able to get rid of pushy shop assistants;
  • for awakening an extreme need in me to search for the perfect lipstick – no, Chanel lipgloss doesn’t cut it;
  • for making me knowledge hungry, and interested in the biographies of the famous fashion icons, Coco Chanel, Estee Lauder, and others;
  • for inspiring me to explore, and to go behind the story of each product;
  • for helping to solve Christmas gift problem for couple of family members – yeah, you will be lucky ones getting the book;
  •  for showing me the way for the deeper beauty universe;
  • and for writing the first book in Danish I was able to read cover to cover with no trouble.

I highly recommend all of you who are or understand Danish to grab the book, and preferably reading it while treating yourself in a bathtub. Moreover, Charlotte was kind enough to agree to be interviewed by me, so that will be coming in couple of weeks, and hopefully I will be able to introduce my English speaking friends to such an inspirational and motivational person.

Have a fantastic week and don’t forget to come back for more reviews!

Month in masks

Hi girls,

To start with I would like to apologize for an extremely decreased amount of the blog posts, but right now I am fighting some health issues, so I don’t want to write a post while feeling bad, and to make it look forced and dishonest. Constant headache doesn’t make it any easier to write either. However, I will try to get back on track slowly. I have been going through my make-up/skincare collection recently just to sort it out, and realized, that I have gotten quite a lot of masks, and I would love to introduce you to all of them.

So let me start with the review which is far overdue, and I do feel guilty about it, since I strongly believe that as soon as you discover an amazing product, it should be shouted out to world as soon as possible. As I told you I have quite a collection of masks and I am constantly looking for new ones. However, I do also love face scrubs, but being libra in my zodiac sign, I do face the dillemma as to what to use, and which one. Thanks to a Danish company, called Jorgobe, now I can have face mask and scrub in one for the days when I can’t decide. I like that.

Let’s start with the packaging, it is quite simple, white, squeezable tube with the black writing. I think it fits well with the concept that mask is based of natural ingriedents. I appreciate the fact that is paraben and perfume fri, so it is gentle for your skin, but dangerous for the pores and dirt on your skin. It comes out of the tube as a thick paste, which you can easily divide on to the skin, let it sit there for about 10 to 15mins, or though I do like to leave it for about 20 minutes for better effect. It has a fresh peppermint smell, which I really enjoy, and gives a little bit of tingling/pressuring effect, which I love, because I suppose that is how I know it works. Just kidding, I can also obviously see the effect. In the past month while I was testing the product, the pores on my nose decreased significantly, and my skin have never been so glowy. Moreover, skin feels so fresh and smooth, and it definitely gives refreshing effect, and is a perfect treat for the Monday morning, I have to say.

The only negative thing is,that I did notice that if you are getting off a steaming shower, or taking a hot bath, the product doesn’t dry out as well as used in ‘a dry environment’, so I would recommend it using before your baths. However, if you have very deep pores, then you do want to take a hot shower to make pores open, but then wait couple of minutes before applying mask.  And even though, masks aren’t the product I am gonna run short on in a quite long time, I am still intrigued on trying their original product, peel off mask, but I am not sure if I dare, mostly due to the color..You can buy the mask on their website right here, or visit their Facebook page for the contests, news and more reviews here. Have a very nice week, and don’t get sick! 🙂

I am officially in love! (Dr.Clean Green rave)

Hi guys,

It took me a while to complete this post, since I have been waiting for some answers, but finally it is here, and hope you will enjoy it.

I have been taking my health a little bit more serious lately, since I simply getting tired of getting sick all the time. I started to look out for ways to keep myself healthy and happy, both from inside and outside. I did some google research, and got an Eureka! moment, when I realised that I actually don’t use a hand sanitizer at all outside work.. However, I was using train and bus daily (I say was, since my work contract is over..), obviously touching the seats, handles and other things. It is very important to keep your hands fresh and clean, while on exposure to things like that, because you never know who might have sat there before you, and which kind of bacterias they had.

I am very thrilled to say, that I love the Dr.Clean Green hand sanitizer… Now you gonna laugh at me, but you are very welcome. I have a little bit an issue of dry hands, and if I can see (or hear, yeah, I am that sensitive, I kind of feel it) people rubbing them together, or if someone is flicking through a magazine, and rubbing pages together, I completely freakout. To the level where I get whole lot goosebumps, and if someone is very consistent in reading, I gotta change the place in the train…And yeah, I manage to freak myself out as well.. So I really like having a nicely moisturized hands in order to avoid this problem, but so far I haven’t find the handcream, which serves that purpose, smells nice, and doesn’t leave my hands greesy. However, this product completely covers all I was looking for, and kill 99.9 percent of bacterias.

I was given an opportunity of trying out the amazing Dr.Clean Green hand purifier. Firstly, I like a very cute packaging, the brown and green colors go very well together, and I personally like labels with a lot of information on it. Secondly, it has a very practical pump, as opposed to those medical sanitizers where you just need to squeeze the tube. Thirdly, it smells so nice. I am awfull in describing scents, as you should know by now, but it has nice, organic, herb smell. It is rather strong, but I really like it, everytime I put it on (and that’s a lot of times a day), I go and smell my hands, because I really love the scents. Fourthly, the price is very affordable being  5.95$ a piece. However, the shipping to Europe is about 4.50 dollars for a piece,  but you know what? It is completely worth it!!!  One more thing I am impressed about, my poor boyfriend seems to have caught some infection couple of weeks ago (yeah, I told him he should have had a purifier with him), from his sick friend, and me, having a weakest immune system anyone can have, didn’t get affected in anyway. I have already used about a third of product, and trust me, I am going to buy more. You can read more about this product http://drcleangreen.com/.

Moreover, the owner have been kind enough to answer my question how he came up with the idea, and gave a nice story, which I couldn’t figure out how to edit by leaving the most important things, and still keep it as interesting and intriguing, so I have attached the .pdf document with the story, it makes up very nice read for a morning coffee..Dr.CleanGreenStory

I am wondering, do you use a hand sanitizer? Why, if you do, and why not? Have a great weekend, and let me know, what you think about the review in the comments bellow!
